i spent the whole day yesterday in the library at school researching agnes martin. i watched two documentaries on her and read two books. i think i am prepared to start my painting. my six foot by six foot painting, yes i am a little scared. i have never painted that large before. i am mostly excited though. i am dissapointed that my painting class is going to end soon, this is our last project. all i want to do is paint! i can't wait until fourth year.

his work is so lovely to look at. colour is beautiful and so complex. it is exactly what made me so frustrated today in class. actually it wasn't colour so much as shape. i kept thinking i had to do all these perfect squares. but i don't! i could look at josef albers work for a long time, not all day though.
